"You look tired, Prince Zuko. Are you not sleeping well?"
"Azula says there are monsters under my bed."
"That's nonsense! You should know better than to believe anything your sister tells you."
"But..."
"Here, lay down and take a quick nap. If any monsters come, I promise I will keep you safe."

As much as I love the relationship between these two characters...from time to time it makes me jealous. I think everyone needs someone to protect them from their families, and sometimes from the world, but most of all we often need someone to protect us from ourselves...I think Iroh does that for Zuko very well in all of those circumstances.
...it makes me jealous.

[Sidenote/]
In my room there is a picture of Pooh Bear and Piglet sitting next to each other. Each are dressed in their pajamas with their eyes closed. Piglet is leaning against Pooh with his arms wrapped around his friend's girth as far as they will go, and Pooh in turn as one arm wrapped around Piglet. They both are smiling and look very much at peace. Beneath this image is text that reads "You make me feel safe n' snuggly." That image inspired this one...and looking at it now from my own bed...I'm almost more disturbed than amazed that I drew Iroh unconsciously in the exact same position as Pooh Bear (even with the right hand resting atop his wide belly)
